Salesforce Nonprofit in 2026: NPSP, Agentforce Nonprofit & What’s Actually Changing

There’s been genuine confusion in the Salesforce nonprofit community about what’s happening with the Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) and Nonprofit Cloud. Here’s a clear-eyed look at where things stand in 2026 and what nonprofit organizations — and the professionals who support them — need to know.

NPSP Is Not Dead

Let’s start with the most important clarification: NPSP has not been discontinued. It remains available, installed, and fully supported. Organizations relying on NPSP today can continue to do so without any disruption to their workflows or data.

What has changed is that Salesforce has stopped developing new features for NPSP. The managed package is maintained — bugs get fixed, security gets patched — but innovation on NPSP is done. Future nonprofit-specific features will be built into Agentforce Nonprofit (formerly Nonprofit Cloud).

Clarifying the Naming Confusion

Salesforce’s product renaming has added to the confusion. Here’s the breakdown:

  • Agentforce 360 for Nonprofits — the overarching branding for Salesforce’s complete nonprofit solution ecosystem. Think of it as the umbrella.
  • Agentforce Nonprofit — the new name for what was previously called Nonprofit Cloud. Same product, rebranded under the Agentforce strategy.

So when Salesforce talks about future innovation being focused on “Agentforce Nonprofit,” they’re referring to the modern Nonprofit Cloud architecture — not the entire ecosystem.

The Power of Us Program: What Nonprofits Actually Get

Salesforce’s Power of Us Program provides eligible nonprofits with donated Enterprise Edition licenses and discounts on additional products. Once approved, organizations can choose between two license bundles:

  • 10 Agentforce Nonprofit – Enterprise Edition licenses (the modern Nonprofit Cloud)
  • 10 Sales and Service Cloud – Enterprise Edition licenses

One important clarification: there are no such things as “NPSP licenses.” NPSP is a collection of six managed packages that gets installed on top of Sales Cloud licenses. Organizations that choose the Sales and Service Cloud bundle can manually install NPSP if they want that data model — it’s still an option, just not the default path forward.

The Strategic Direction

Salesforce is clearly moving nonprofits toward Agentforce Nonprofit, with AI-driven workflows embedded throughout. For organizations still on NPSP, the practical advice is to begin evaluating the migration path sooner rather than later — not because anything breaks today, but because the gap in functionality will only grow over time.

For Salesforce professionals working in the nonprofit sector, staying current on both the Nonprofit Cloud data model and the evolving Agentforce capabilities is essential. The Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud Consultant exam covers the foundational concepts, and is a strong credential for anyone building a career in this space.
